Superior, All-in-One Drywall Surfacer and Texture Coating by CertainTeed Gypsum Now Available in Canada

Industry-proven Extreme Texture Coat makes it easy to create durable, mould-resistant textured surfaces on interior walls and ceilings
(Mississauga, Ont.) – Creating a durable, mould-resistant surface for orange peel and knockdown textures on interior walls and ceilings is easier than ever with Extreme Texture Coat. Now available in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the interior wall texture by CertainTeed Gypsum is a complementary finish for high-performance boards such as AirRenew® Extreme Abuse Resistant Gypsum Board and AirRenew Extreme Impact Resistant Gypsum Board, AirRenew M2Tech® moisture- and mould-resistant gypsum boards, and paperless glass-mat gypsum boards.
Extreme Texture Coat is an all-in-one drywall surfacer and texture that comes ready mixed to speed time spent finishing interior walls and ceilings. Easily applied with conventional texture spray equipment, the acrylic-based coating creates long-lasting, mould-resistant textured surfaces. In addition, its durable scratch- and abuse-resistant coating is not abrasive to skin.
“All spray-on textures are not created equal, and many lack the durability and mould-resistance needed for commercial and institutional settings. Extreme Texture Coat, however, is an industry-proven drywall surfacer and texture that provides a lasting finish that stands up to everyday wear and tear in high-traffic settings,” said Stephen Reynolds, marketing manager for CertainTeed Gypsum. “This exceptional product has been widely used in the United States and we are pleased to bring it to the Canadian market. Installers can trust that it truly creates the aesthetic appeal of textured walls while providing protection to the wall surface that really lasts.”
When used in conjunction with high-performance wallboards, Extreme Texture Coat helps provide a complete wall assembly system that achieves maximum resistance to everyday impact as well as moisture and mould within the wall. The enduring coating can even be scrubbed clean without risk of damage, making it ideal for hospitality, education, childcare and healthcare environments where durable, easy-to-clean surfaces are a must.
When tested according to ASTM 2486, the standard test method for scrub resistance of wall paints, Extreme Texture Coat performs better than high gloss acrylic latex coatings. The product also achieves the highest possible mould resistance score per ASTM D 3273 and adheres to ASTM D1653, the standard test method for water vapor transmission of organic coating films.
