(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed Ceilings has expanded its Gyptone® BIG™ large format perforated acoustical panel offering with the launch of Quattro 46. With a smaller perforated area than other designs in the BIG portfolio, Quattro 46 is optimized for the integration of linear light fixtures within the panels and expands the design potential for interior spaces.

The perforated gypsum panels allow for monolithic ceiling and wall designs without visible breaks or joints and provide superior acoustics for open lobbies, classrooms and office spaces. Quattro 46 features a square perforation pattern with eight even-sized squares per 4-foot by 8-foot panel. The panels offer a superior acoustical performance with a NRC of 0.60. Quattro 46 panels are made with 80 percent post-consumer and five percent pre-consumer recycled content and can be fully recycled at the end of its useful life into the manufacturing of new gypsum products.

“The Gyptone BIG product line provides crisp, clean and contemporary visuals for monolithic transitions from walls to ceilings,” said Dawn Chittick, director of marketing for CertainTeed Ceilings. “With Quattro 46, we are providing architects with increased flexibility in working with interior lighting elements while designing the most acoustically sound interiors possible.”

Gyptone BIG panels are suitable for direct or suspended screw mounting and can be easily painted with a short-nap roller. As with the other Gyptone BIG Board products, CertainTeed offers a coordinating Quattro 46 access panel.
