Easy-to-Install CertainTeed Restoration Millwork® Column Wraps Boost Curb Appeal

(Valley Forge, Pa.) – Ensuring fast, efficient installation, the new Restoration Millwork® cellular PVC square porch column wraps from CertainTeed Corporation are attractive, durable and easily slide around existing posts. Unlike similar products, the new column wraps are pre-cut, pre-mitered and pre-assembled to ensure quick application to existing load-bearing wood porch posts.
“Before, contractors had to measure, cut and construct column wraps on-site. Not only is this labor-intensive, but it creates more opportunities for an imperfect result,” said Patti Pellock, senior marketing manager for Restoration Millwork. “Our new column wraps help installations move faster, while adding long-lasting beauty to porch designs and other exterior areas.”
The low-maintenance Restoration Millwork cellular PVC column wraps simply slide around existing posts and one side swings closed, sealing shut with PVC adhesive on two corners for a quick, accurate installation. The wraps come in a smooth, natural white finish and two traditional cap and base trim set styles—Classic and Estate—and are available in two column widths — 8- by 8-inch and 10- by 10-inch, each with a standard 9-foot height. Either the Classic square cap or Estate crown cap, both with 13-inch tall square base trim sets, can assist with stretching column height to 10 feet in length. Column wraps may also be cut to accommodate 8-foot high posts and work with either 4- by 4-inch or 6- by 6-inch wide posts. In addition, the included internal spacers are also adjustable within the column wrap to accommodate line, corner and end posts—eliminating overhang on the porch floor.
The new column wraps feature a Class A (Class 1) flame spread classification and are backed by a 25-year limited warranty. The wraps are also compatible with any CertainTeed EverNew® vinyl or composite railing system.
Made from cellular polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the Restoration Millwork full line of trim, beadboard and accessories is engineered to look, feel and work like top-grade lumber. Unlike wood, however, it is made with a long-lasting, low-maintenance material that is resistant to UV rays, rotting, warping, moisture and insects. Offered in Natural White finish, Restoration Millwork can also be painted to complement exterior colors, cut using ordinary woodworking tools and fastened with nails or screws.
Restoration Millwork is manufactured to coordinate with CertainTeed’s comprehensive line of high-performance, low-maintenance outdoor living products including Oxford, Edgewood, Kingston, Panorama®, Spectrum® and Durham™ railing systems, EverNew® Vinyl Decking, EverNew® LT Cellular PVC Decking, EverNew® PT Composite Decking, and structural porch posts and columns.
