(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed is offering roofing contractors even more options with the introduction of Landmark™ Pro to its popular Landmark Series asphalt shingles. Landmark Pro includes more weathering asphalt for added protection compared to entry-level Landmark shingles and the industry’s strongest warranty. Landmark Pro also incorporates CertainTeed’s premium Max Definition vibrant color blend technology, which features a richer mixture of surface granules to create a brighter, more dramatic appearance and depth of color.

“Additional value is crucial in today’s economy,” says Bob Gardiner, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. “We strive to be a single source of products that represent the widest range of aesthetic and performance attributes to help roofing contractors best meet homeowners’ needs.”

Landmark Pro offers a dual-layer high performance shingle with 20 distinct colors, including Max Def Burnt Sienna, Max Def Colonial Slate, Max Def Moiré Black, and Max Def Weathered Wood and the ENERGY STAR®-rated Silver Birch. Its layered construction and dimensional design creates beauty and depth, while its laminated fiberglass construction keeps the shingle virtually impervious to deterioration and leakage.

Landmark Pro is algae resistant and comes with an industry-leading lifetime-limited transferable warranty, including 10-year SureStart™ coverage for full protection in the unlikely event a manufacturing defect occurs during the early years following residential product installation. It also features 15-year coverage against winds up to 110 miles per hour, a 15-year StreakFighter™ warranty and a 50-year limited transferable warranty against manufacturing defects on group-owned or commercial applications. It is UL certified ASTM D3462 and CSA standard A123.5 for tear resistance, as well as ASTM D3018 Type 1 and Class A for wind and fire resistance. In addition, the shingle meets ICC-ES-ESR-1389 quality standards for code compliance.

Landmark Pro is designed with additional shingle weight, at 250 pounds per square, which translates into greater durability. It is also outfitted with CertainTeed’s NailTrak™ feature, with a nailing area three times wider than typical laminate shingles; enabling faster, more accurate installation and fewer homeowner callbacks.

Landmark Pro represents the affordable, mid-grade shingle within the popular Landmark Series of roofing shingles, which offers the choice of good, better and best options. The entry-level Landmark shingle offers two-piece laminated fiberglass-based construction and a traditional color palette. Ultra-premium Landmark TL, with tri-laminate construction, is a heavier 305 pounds per square shingle with the rustic appearance of hand-split shakes.
