CertainTeed Supports Street Teens With Donation to New Las Vegas Facility
(Tampa, Fla.) – Demonstrating their commitment to supporting the local community, CertainTeed and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 15 in Las Vegas recently donated gypsum finishing products and sweat equity to renovate the headquarters for a local non-profit organization, Street Teens. The 3,700 square-foot building will serve as home to the organization, which provides disadvantaged youth with counseling and assistance in a safe environment.
“Street Teens is an organization that impacts and changes lives of youth through its work in the community,” said Amy Lee, marketing communications manager for CertainTeed Gypsum. “We are pleased to support the organization’s cause with the donation of our products to their new home.”
Through the local Union of Painters and Allied Trades, more than 50 drywall finisher apprentices donated their time to help remodel the building with finishing products donated from the local CertainTeed plant.
“With help from CertainTeed and the local Union of Painters and Allied Trades, we were able to move into our new building on schedule,” said Lisa Preston, executive director of Street Teens. “The time and resources so generously provided by our partners in the community have made our new facility a reality.”
Offering a broad range of gypsum and finishing products for interior and exterior needs, CertainTeed Gypsum has served the North American building industry for more than 80 years and is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, the world’s leading producer of gypsum products.
