CertainTeed Roofing Expands Regional Availability for NorthGate® SBS-modified Shingles
Dynamic architectural shingle offers curb appeal & industry-leading impact resistance
(Malvern, Pa.) – CertainTeed Roofing is pleased to announce that it is expanding product availability for the popular NorthGate® SBS-modified asphalt shingles. NorthGate will now be available to U.S. customers in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Central and Western Pennsylvania, and to Canadian customers in eastern Ontario.
Engineered for harsh and frigid environments, NorthGate’s SBS polymer-modified composition allows it to remain flexible at temperatures as low as 0°F (-18°C), enhancing its weatherability and making it easier to install in cold climates. The two-piece laminated fiberglass-based shingle also meets the requirements for Class 4 for impact resistance – the highest rating possible.

In addition to its exceptional strength, NorthGate’s Max Def color palette features a rich mixture of surface granules that deliver vibrant curb appeal and create a dimensional appearance similar to that of natural wood. The 270 pound-per-square NorthGate comes with a comprehensive lifetime warranty, as well as a 15-year StreakFighter® warranty, 10-year SureStart™ protection, and 15-year 110 mph wind-resistance warranty. A wind warranty upgrade to 130 mph is available when NorthGate is installed with its companion hip and ridge accessory, NorthGate Ridge, and CertainTeed starter shingles.
