(Tampa, Fla.) – Through a partnership with CertainTeed Gypsum, national home builder Lennar is featuring AirRenew® Essential IAQ Gypsum Board in its three home collections at Pavilion Park, an expansive, new neighborhood in Irvine, Calif. Already committed to using low- and no-VOC materials and finishes in its homes, Lennar saw this as a way to offer improved indoor air quality (IAQ) in their homes at Pavilion Park.

“As one of the leading home builders in the nation, we are always on the lookout for new products that will help us provide our homeowners with more sustainable, comfortable living spaces,” says David J. Kaiserman, president of Lennar Ventures. “When CertainTeed presented AirRenew Essential IAQ Gypsum Board to us, we knew we’d found one of those products. And, with California’s high level of awareness of formaldehyde and its negative effects, we believed Pavilion Park would be an excellent test market for the product.”

One of eight home builders to be included in the 726-home Pavilion Park, Lennar has three home collections featured -- Roundtree, Rosemist and Beachwood. Pavilion Park is the first in a series of developments known as the Great Park Neighborhoods, currently being constructed on the former site of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Irvine. The Great Park Neighborhoods are designed to emphasize “the very best of Irvine,” with ample tree-lined streets, sustainable homes and green surroundings.

CertainTeed Gypsum is thrilled to partner with Lennar on this project and help the home builder go above and beyond with indoor air quality.

“Partnering with a leading national home builder like Lennar provides us with a great opportunity to introduce the performance of our AirRenew line to a larger audience,” says Angie Day, marketing manager-residential segment for CertainTeed Gypsum. “The installation of AirRenew Essential on this project, along with the home builder’s indoor air quality-enhancing design, provides an effective strategy for reducing formaldehyde levels in a home.”

Featuring industry-first formaldehyde-scavenging technology, AirRenew Essential offers a cost-effective solution for healthier interior environments in residential construction and remodeling projects. AirRenew products are GREENGUARD® Gold certified and can contribute to indoor environmental quality, recycled materials, and innovation in design credits for green projects. The products contain up to 99 percent total recycled content and may provide regional materials, depending on project location. And, most importantly, they handle the same as regular gypsum boards and do not require special tools to install or finish. AirRenew Essential will soon join the existing portfolio of AirRenew products that have Environmental Claims Validation (ECV) from UL Environment for permanent formaldehyde absorption.
