CertainTeed Launches Credential Program for Metal Roofing Contractors
Suite of promotional and support tools now available to qualifying industry professionals
(Malvern, Pa.) – Continuing its more than 30-year mission to support and enhance the efforts of trade professionals, CertainTeed, North America’s leading brand of building materials, is pleased to announce a new credential program for metal roofing contractors.
Built in the spirit of CertainTeed’s well-respected programs for asphalt shingle and commercial roofing contractors, the CertainTeed MetalContractor™ and CertainTeed MetalMaster™ credentials are designed to provide pros with tools to enhance application skills, business acumen and in-home selling efforts.
“Metal roofing is one of the fastest growing categories in the roofing industry,” said Jay Butch, director of contractor programs for CertainTeed Roofing. “Until now, metal pros really didn’t have a complete set of tools to help differentiate themselves from their competitors.”
The CertainTeed MetalContractor credential is a great starting point for the newer contracting company. The keys are that one supervisor and two installers must have passed the CertainTeed Metal Installer test, the company must abide by a program code of ethics, must be licensed, have updated liability insurance and must reach annual sales targets.
The CertainTeed MetalMaster credential is for the more advanced company, in business at least five years. To earn this credential, all of the company’s crew supervisors and half of its installers must pass the CertainTeed Metal Installer test. The company must be licensed, have updated liability and workers compensation insurance and reach annual sales targets.
“There are two main things homeowners want when they hire a professional roofing contractor,” said Butch. “They want a company they can trust and one that knows what it's doing. We’ve spent 30 years helping shingle contractors perfect their business skills, including the art of in-home selling and these newest credentials are designed to give metal installers that same edge in this rapidly growing category.”
By making this commitment, CertainTeed credentialed metal roofing contractors gain exclusive access to a suite of marketing and sales support tools, including priority listing on certainteed.com, a credential certificate, lead generation tools, on-line customer reviews, training videos, and live in-person application training, to name a few. Also, they gain exclusive access to the industry-leading MyEDGE website, chock full of valuable resources including sales tools, education and training.
“Metal roofing contractors now have a complete arsenal of tools when competing for jobs, backed by one of the largest roofing brands in the indusry,” said Butch.
