CertainTeed Gypsum Wins Architectural Record 2011 Excellence in Advertising Award
(Tampa, Fla.) – CertainTeed Gypsum was recently honored with the prestigious Architectural Record 2011 Excellence in Advertising Award for its campaign promoting the SilentFX(TM) noise-reducing gypsum board. Architectural Record and its publisher, McGraw-Hill, presented the award to CertainTeed Gypsum at the 2011 American Institute of Architects Convention in New Orleans. This marks the 15th year of the annual design competition.
The CertainTeed advertisement is one of only 15 winners, selected from a pool of more than 150 submissions. A jury of 14 distinguished architects from firms of all sizes across the country evaluated the submissions to select the finalists. A six-member committee then convened in person to select the 15 winning ads that best combined graphics, messaging, and content relevant to architects. CertainTeed Gypsum also had a second advertisement, which promoted its sustainable operations and products, selected as a finalist.
“Our team worked hard to design a strategic, dynamic ad that would resonate with architects and effectively convey the performance benefits of SilentFX,” says John Donaldson, president of CertainTeed Gypsum. “This recognition demonstrates our deep understanding of the architectural community and reflects the compelling and unique way we communicate the value of our products.”
SilentFX features Green Glue, a viscoelastic polymer that provides superior sound damping properties, applied between two specially formulated gypsum boards. Achieving sound transmission class (STC) ratings of 50 and higher, SilentFX gypsum board allows building professionals to reduce sound transmission through walls and ceilings with less material than traditional gypsum board assemblies, saving on installation time and materials while gaining valuable square footage. Specially engineered to provide enhanced protection against moisture and mold with CertainTeed’s M2Tech® technology, SilentFX is GREENGUARD® Children and Schools(SM) Certified. Designed for use on interior walls and ceilings and available for Type X assemblies, it can be used for new construction or renovations over wood or steel framing.
