Code Approval Opens Door to Low-Maintenance, Stylish Exterior Residential Design Options

(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed is pleased to announce its popular EverNew® vinyl railing systems are now available across Canada. The Oxford and Kingston vinyl railing systems that U.S. homeowners have enjoyed for years have received third party evaluation reports showing compliance with the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) 2010 and the Ontario Building Code (OBC) 2006. The documentation states the vinyl railing systems officially meet the loading requirements for guards within residential homes with up to two dwelling units, making them code compliant and eligible for installation in all Canadian provinces.

“We are excited to make our stylish, low-maintenance vinyl railing products available to the Canadian residential marketplace,” said Patti Pellock, senior marketing manager for CertainTeed’s Fence, Railing and Decking Business. “With the new reports, our customers can rest assured that these products are also safe, secure and weather-resistant railing systems that meet stringent criteria approved by professional engineers, and have been independently tested and found in compliance with the primary codes enforced throughout Canada.”

The Oxford style delivers a completely seamless appearance with either a routed or bracketed metal-to-metal, rail-to-post connection. Available in White, Almond or Clay colors, its popular aluminum-reinforced T-rail top rail and 2 by 4 bottom rail design provides the ultimate in strength, aesthetics and longevity. Oxford comes in two heights and two lengths, with a choice of square or colonial balusters.

Available in White, Almond or Clay, the Kingston vinyl railing system offers classic wood styling in a durable, low-maintenance classic broad-loaf design for both top and bottom rails. Its premium features at an affordable price include aluminum rail mount brackets to provide a safe and secure metal-to-metal, rail-to-post connection for greater strength and longevity. Kingston comes in two heights and two lengths, with a choice of square or traditional balusters.

Both Kingston and Oxford are Canadian railing code compliant up to an 8-foot span for exterior
guard rail systems for one- and two-family dwellings. Each offers a lifetime limited warranty with 5-year SureStart™ protection. For more information, visit www.certainteed.com.
