CertainTeed Announces 25th Anniversary Celebration for Cedar Impressions® Shake and Shingle Siding
Innovative product captures the beauty of real wood without the burden of difficult installation or regular maintenance
(Malvern, Pa.) – Twenty-five years ago, CertainTeed revolutionized the home siding industry with the introduction of Cedar Impressions® Polymer Shake and Shingle Siding. Today, CertainTeed announced the official kick-off of a year-long 25th anniversary celebration for the durable, innovative vinyl polymer siding product line.
The anniversary commemorates CertainTeed’s continuing history of innovation while celebrating one of its most beloved products. Introduced in 1992, Cedar Impressions captures the look and feel of real wood shingles without the hassle of expensive and frequent maintenance.
“The Cedar Impressions product line completely revolutionized the siding industry,” said Pam Schechter, president of CertainTeed Siding. “Its low-maintenance, authentic style appeals to homeowners, while contractors love it for its easy installation and durability. The Cedar Impressions panels installed on the first homes decades ago are still in prime condition. In fact, many homeowners have built additions onto their homes using new Cedar Impressions panels next to existing Cedar Impressions panels —a true testament to the quality of this product and its lasting, real-wood appearance. That’s what we’re celebrating – the product’s long-lasting beauty, enduring quality and the innovation behind it.”
Since its initial launch in 1992, Cedar Impressions has grown substantially to include eight styles, six sizes and over 45 industry-leading colors. Many innovative enhancements have also been introduced over the years, including TrueTexture™ finish, which replicates the authentic wood grain look of real wood shingles, and CedarLife™ Color Blends, which capture the appearance of Eastern White Cedar and Western Red Cedar at different stages of life.
“For more than 70 years, only high quality materials from national manufacturers have been featured in our showrooms,” said Rob Holden, president of Florence Building Materials, a CertainTeed distributor partner that has been selling Cedar Impressions since it was first introduced, from New York City to the forks of Eastern Long Island. “A leader in the industry, CertainTeed created a whole new category with Cedar Impressions. It remains a top choice due to its consistent durability, expansive color palette and eye-catching styles that evolve year after year reflecting ever-changing exterior trends. They really listen to feedback from distributors, installers, contractors and property owners. It’s truly a phenomenal product line.”
To celebrate the Cedar Impressions silver anniversary, CertainTeed will feature special contractor incentives, a homeowner contest and much more. Stay tuned for more details.
