Berwyn Family’s Stunning Home Exterior Renovation Wraps Up in Final Webisodes of Online TV Series
Last installments of CertainTeed® Living Spaces® Home Makeover series chronicle installation of roof ventilation, construction of backyard “oasis” and a big reveal of the beautiful result
(Malvern, Pa.) – An eager Berwyn, Pennsylvania family witnesses the final steps in the amazing transformation of their storm-damaged home in the latest installments of an inspiring Internet TV series. The final four webisodes of the CertainTeed® Living Spaces® Facebook® Home Makeover Contest follow contest winner Pastor Sue Ericsson and family as they observe the installation of vital roof ventilation, the construction of a breathtaking outdoor living space and the installation of an attractive privacy fence. In the finale, Sue looks back over the entire project and conducts a tour of her beautifully renovated home and back yard, with before-and-after views to highlight the many new features. All eight installments of the series are now available on the CertainTeed Living Spaces YouTube® channel.
In the fifth webisode, “CertainTeed roof ventilation products keep the right airflow,” contractor Greg Impriano, of Impriano Roofing & Siding, gives Sue the rundown on how CertainTeed Intake Vent, Ridge Vent and InvisiVent® Soffit products collectively provide optimum attic ventilation that helps prevent ice damming in winter and maximizes the lifetime of the roof. Harsh northeastern winters over the years had led to significant roof damage to the Ericsson home, including a large hole in the sheathing. “It’s just going to be terrific to have a new roof, with no more holes,” Sue said happily.
Impriano Roofing and Siding, is a credentialed CertainTeed 5-Star® Green Siding Contractor and SELECT ShingleMaster® Roofing Contractor with locations in Berwyn and Broomall, Pennsylvania. Building products for the remodeling project were sourced from Marvic Supply Company in Edgemont, Pennsylvania.
In the sixth webisode, titled, “EverNew® Panorama® Railing perfectly frames the outdoor oasis,” the team from Impriano completes a beautiful outdoor living space for the home, which Sue’s sons Amani and Gabe have nicknamed, “Our Backyard Oasis.” The family selected an expansive deck complete with the beautiful EverNew Panorama Composite Railing System. The webisode details this unique system, with architecturally detailed white wood-like rails and bronze basket balusters. The hidden fastener system also prevents screws from poking out to eliminate potential snags and unsightly corrosion.
CertainTeed bronze solar post caps, which absorb solar energy during the day to provide outdoor lighting for security and ambience at night, completed this portion of the project. “The wood-like railing and architectural details of the alternating basket weave patterns and bronze post caps give the system a great touch of class,” Sue said. “The color combination is elegant, but at the same time, it’s natural-looking.”
The seventh episode, titled, “CertainTeed Bufftech® fence defines the yard and adds privacy,” shifts the focus to the Ericsson’s large back yard as Sue meets with Mike Bishop of Bishop’s Fencing and Outdoor Products, a CertainTeed 5-Star Fence Contractor located in Souderton, Pennsylvania. Mike explains that the 6-foot Chesterfield CertaGrain® texture privacy fence boasts the look of authentic wood grain and a multichromatic color blend that recreates the natural beauty of stained lumber. The Timber Blend color option was chosen to coordinate the fence with the CedarBoards™ insulated siding of the same shade that was used on the house. “We love the way it blends into the woods in the back yard,” Sue said. “It’s amazing how beautifully the Bufftech fence frames the property, and knowing it won’t rot and we won’t have to ever paint it makes it even better.”
The eighth and final episode is titled, “Sue and Jack take a final project walk around.” It follows Sue and Jack Impriano, owner of Impriano Roofing & Siding, as they look back at all the work that was done to make over the Ericsson’s home. From siding to roof shingles to trim, rear deck and railing to perimeter privacy fence, CertainTeed provided a range of high-quality, aesthetically coordinated products. And thanks to the excellent craftsmanship of the various contractors involved, the family’s residence was transformed from an older home in need of some tender loving care into a spectacularly renovated living space.
“I really want to thank CertainTeed for this wonderful experience,” said Sue in the final webisode. “It’s been so much fun. We got to meet wonderful people, and our house looks absolutely fantastic.”
